“The earlier teenagers start drinking, the more likely they are to start experimenting with drugs and will eventually move on to harder substances. ‘Drug use at a young age is risk-taking behavior,’ they said. ‘Initially, that’s having a few cans. So if you have your first few cans at 12 or 13, your next risk-taking behavior is going to be smoking a joint.”
